Is a career in events possible without a degree?
All employers care about is that you have experience managing successful events. A degree may open the door on the first few entry level opportunities. What you can try instead is volunteering. There are events happening all around you every day, and many don't have budgets sufficient to hire (pay) veteran event planners. Volunteer to help with them and look for opportunties. A friend of mine with no formal event planning background volunteered for a career fair type event. It was successful they held it again teh following year. The third year it had 2,000+ attendees, was at the biggest event venue in my town and had lots of media coverage. She is now working as an event planner. Good luck!
